WHO IS JUANITA AND IS SHE UNDER THE CONCRETE MOUND?

Juanita Nielsen was a journalist and a very public activist against the development of Victoria Street in Kings Cross, where she lived. In 1975 she mysteriously disappeared. Sydney gangster Abe Saffron was implicated in her disappearance and supposed murder. Her body has never been found, and there are many theories as to her final resting place. One is that she is buried under one of the runways at Sydney airport.

It has since been categorically proven beyond all reasonable, or unreasonable, doubt that she is NOT buried under any concrete at 23 Albert Street Berry.

SLIP SLOP SLAB

Saturday 12 June 2021

Happy days ARE here again. The rain abated, the formwork began

Then, on Tuesday 25 May, Boomin returned

The trucks lined up

And the slab was poured

Boomin was hard at work

Whichever way you look at it

The trucks were constantly on stand by

And the team was boomin too

Anyone under that pile?

And then, just a few hours later, it was done

Two days later, the windows arrived

Wait. Is that Juanita under there? (if you’re under 60 and get that pun, I’m impressed)

16 days later (who’s counting?) nothing has happened. We’re thinking of moving in, with a couple of swags and a camp stove. The toilet is on site

We did take advantage of the idle site to get the lemon and mandarin trees pruned

And we cleaned up the site a bit

We know that skipping is good for you, so we filled it

We are expecting the team to be back on site on Tuesday. Full time. Stand by for plenty of blogs. Ha ha.
